hello blogging world. i am new here so please be kind. if you are wondering what this blog will be about well so am i, and that means we already have something in common. stick around a bit and you might find out that you enjoy my company or you may think i am a waste of your time. i can not determine your reaction to me nor can i determine how i might feel about you but we can determine how we treat one another reguardless of our opinions for one another. i guess that is my first brain dropping... basic civility.
what has happend to civility? has anything happened to it? It seems like one can not share their opinions or feelings anymore without someone else judging them or bashing them for having such thoughts. That is not very civil at all. The other extreme is just as bad, the idea that all opinions are equally valid and none are more right than the other. If there is no truth then what is the point of having thoughts at all? The absence of truth diminishes the purpose of thought - to pursue truth. Such a world can not be civil; it would either be chaotic or lethargic.
Civility happens when we stop dissing an opinion for being different, and we stop dismissing the purpose of opinions, and we start dialoguing our opinions in order to not win the argument but come to a better understanding of truth.
maybe.
